Dates: February 20 & 21, 2021

Times: 9am – 5pm CST both days

Want to join in on our mission to create a fitter planet? Awesome – we’d love to have you on the team! Whether you’ve been teaching for years or are starting fresh, we’ll give you the tools you need to be successful.

We want to be upfront and avoid surprises down the line. So, before we dive into detail, here’s the bottom line on what’s required to become certified and stay certified with us:

Your Trainer on this course will be Jennifer Lucas.

PLEASE NOTE: Stationary bicycles are required for the entirety of the training weekend as well as pre- and post-training filming.

For your final assessment video (due 60 days post-training), you will need to use the proper equipment and follow the usual Assessment guidelines (see Assessment Video section below). Your trainer will also discuss Assessment more in depth with you during training.

– You must attend 100% of your Initial Training Module – no exceptions

– Your training will be physically and mentally challenging! The training contains both practical and theoretical components and is designed for participants who are experienced in fitness classes, in good mental health and physically fit.

– If you are unsure about the level of your fitness for whatever reason, including injury, sickness or pregnancy, you should consult your medical adviser before registering for the training and should not participate if your health or ability to exercise is at risk. If reasonably requested by us, you agree to provide us with clearance from a licensed medical professional. If you are not able to provide such clearance – or if it otherwise reasonably appears to us at any time that your health might be at risk – we reserve the right to ask you to leave training (and your assessment video will not be accepted). If this happens, there will be no refund for the price paid for the training. However, at our discretion, we may transfer your training to another date or program.

-Online Initial Training requires a stable Internet Connection. We recommend joining from a laptop or PC where possible. Please note, you will need to utilize your computer (or mobile device) microphone and camera for the duration of training.

– You can access your training release through the Instructor Portal or the Les Mills Releases App on any iOS or Android device. Make sure to download the release for offline use on the app for the best user experience.

1. No less than 10 days prior to the training we will let you know the status of the training and if your training materials are available for download from our instructor portal. (We’ll include instructions on how to download your music, video, and choreography notes. Don’t worry, it’s really easy!)

2. Watch the required pre-training videos.

3. Take the time to get familiar with the full release and learn your assigned track.

4. Send a video recording of you teaching the assigned track and 5 technique demo moves directly to the trainer. This will be sent no less than 5 days before training. Don’t worry, this is just for learning and it will only be shared with the trainer.

Re-record assigned track and send directly to the trainer no more than 3 days after training to receive training outcome and next steps to support your instructor journey.

1. Attending training does not guarantee certification.

2. After passing training, you need to submit an assessment video within 60 days to show that you are teaching a safe and effective class.

a. Please understand that submitting the video also does not guarantee certification.

b. You must receive an outcome of ‘PASS’ to complete the certification and be able to teach classes. There is no guarantee that all instructors will ‘PASS’ the assessment video.

c. You will only be able to film in a facility licensed for the program in which you attended training.

d. Affiliation with a licensed facility is required for BORN TO MOVE, LES MILLS GRIT, LES MILLS SPRINT, and SH’BAM as a minimum of 5 VISIBLE PARTICIPANTS are required in the assessment video for these programs.

e. If you have any questions about this prior to attending training, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]

Times: 9am – 5pm CST both days

Check the schedule carefully. You have to participate 100% in training, so be sure you can attend the whole time or you will not pass the module. We cover a lot of information into the weekend, and we want our instructors to be as successful as possible!

You need to bring:

* LES MILLS Release kit (on your electronic device)

* A pen and paper for taking notes

* iPod or a device to listen to your assigned tracks

* We also recommend bringing a laptop or tablet so that you can review your allocated tracks as homework after the first day

* Fluid and snacks to sustain you throughout the day, and changes of clothes (you are going to sweat. A lot.)
