Ever since we heard the heavy-handed action when a soul cycle studio banned a top fitness leader because they were afraid of losing customers, many of us stopped visiting SoulCycle.
Well. Soulcycle did again. Within hours of Soul Cycle Magazine broke the story that their Vancouver location has the cheaper bikes without computers, the founder received a threatening phone call from an “anonymous” number from the manager of Soulcycle vancouver threatening the founder of Indoor Cycling Magazine. The manager was so angry that she left the threatening message on the voicemail, how unprofessional and mean.
Where you aware of that in the past SoulCycle also banned one of the top fitness leaders in USA? His name is Joey Gonzalez. Here is the story which Indoor Cycling Magazine published.
That is why we need to support our community centers
You may also recall that recently we wrote that their are mixed reviews about SoulCycle coming to Vancouver. Such as the 30 dollars classes and cult like activities.
We also spoke to business owners in Yaletown who told us that it is “crazy” to pay about 30 dollars for a 45 minute class. If you make that 3 classes a week that gets expensive. More than a monthly car payment, and there is no equity being accumulated.
What is most troublesome is that SoulCycle Vancouver decided to deprive customers of a very important and helpful feature which is the computer that is supposed to come with their bikes. We repeat. Indoor Cycling Magazine broke the story. That SoulCycle Vancouver bikes have NO COMPUTERS.
Here is the info about the computers that usually come with the STAGES bikes but for some reason, SoulCycle Yaletown choose not to include them. Why?
This is what is SUPPOSED to come with the STAGES BIKES that SoulCycle has in Yaletown. It is called the STAGES Power Console. But Soulcycle decided to go with the cheaper option. This is what YOU WON’T SEE:
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
The most accurate, lightest weight measurement tool in cycling is changing indoor cycling. Unlike most fitness equipment power meters, Stages Power was born from the needs of the world’s best professional cyclists and perfected for indoor.
Now indoor riders can benefit from the precision of training with power. Whether you’re counting calories or logging in-depth interval statistics, Stages Power technology provides the most accurate results ensuring the truest ranking in the most competitive workout – improvement begins with the right information.
STAGES POWER METER: CHANGING THE WAY WE TRAIN
Unlike most commercial power meters, Stages Power measurement captures a rider’s force at the bike’s crank, for accuracy to within +/- 2.5% of actual output. Whether you’re counting calories or logging in-depth interval statistics, Stages Power provides the most accurate feedback, ensuring the truest rankings even in the critical group display mode.
Stages Cycling engineers the premiere power measurement tools used by elite riders. Now we apply that technology to the in-studio cycling experience, giving everyone who works out access to the same measured improvement tools pros rely on.
- The benchmark in accurate power measurement for indoor cycling
- The only indoor power meter implementing professional measurement technology
- Data capture via ANT+ enabled sport devices (iOS and Android Bluetooth 4.0 compatible)
- 2300 hour ride time via 2 standard AA batteries
- Engineered & assembled in Boulder, Colorado
We encourage you to contact Stephanie Delisi, the Soul Cycle Manager at Yaletown, and ask her why did they pick the cheaper option when they know that Yaletown is known for high quality and the latest technology. [email protected]
Indoor Cycling Magazine tried to contact Stephanie Delisi, the Soul Cycle Manager at Yaletown for a reply, but we guess that Indoor Cycling Magazine was unworthy of a reply. Was it because we don’t promote their 30 dollar classes. OR because we revealed that their bikes have no computers which usually come with STAGES bikes, however they choose not to include them? If we are wrong let us know, here is her email [email protected]
We also reached out to the Indoor Cycling management to request a conversation regarding SoulCycle coming to Vancouver. We sent emails to a senior SoulCycle manager called Mia Jacobs. And you betcha, we experienced the same hallucinatory state. Mia Jacobs, acted like a cult-member, and was afraid to communicate with Indoor Cycling Magazine. Which we, and many, thought was strange, anti-social and weird. However, when we told Ms. Jacobs that we plan to write about SoulCycle a few days later we got an email from Julie D’Uva and Carolyn Beaudry, from ASC Public Relations, who handle Soulcycle public relations company who offered to answer questions; but, did not answer one question. Which was consistent with the description of a cultic, hallucinatory, religious group. Which is why Soulcycle is getting mixed reviews.
Oh by the way. Other studios, like Trueride in California have the same bikes but INCLUDE the computer and only charge 19 bucks a class, which is 33 % less than what SoulCycle charges, who have the cheaper bikes 🙁
Just a recap.
Soulcycle did again. Within hours when Indoor Cycling Magazine broke the story that their Vancouver location has the cheaper bikes without computers, the founder received a threatening phone call from an “anonymous” number from the manager of Soulcycle vancouver threatening the founder of Indoor Cycling Magazine.
The manager was so angry that she left the threatening message on the voicemail. Extremely unprofessional and mean.
The majority our Indoor Cycling Magazine friends are very very proud of us, because we always take the side of the consumer and are not cheerleaders for Indoor Cycling Studios. Thank you for your support–and at the same time–we apologize to anyone who was hoping that we act blindly when we see Indoor Cycling Studios engaging in abuse and malice.
In case you were not aware, SoulCycle was in ABC News in the past for banning a fitness instructor, which made headline news.
A celebrity trainer Joey Gonzalez said happened to him. Gonzalez, co-owner and chief operating officer of Barry’s Bootcamp, which offers fitness instruction in San Diego, New York and other cities, told ABC News that about 10 days after he took a spinning class at SoulCycle, he got a call from a SoulCycle.
So that was ABC news.
Now lets move to Business Insider which reported
So it’s worth noting that like many fitness fads, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
1. It’s not a good workout, according to some experts
2. You can hurt yourself
3. SoulCycle fools you into thinking you’re working harder than you actually are
4. SoulCycle charges you for water and shoes
5. You get shoved to the back, where you may not be able to see the instructor
6. It’s expensive, and there aren’t memberships available for loyal, frequent riders
7. It owns its elitism and exclusivity
8. It doesn’t make you feel good about yourself, but it promises that it will
9. The wording in its IPO filing was ludicrous
You would think that would be it.
Now lets focus on one specific Soulcycle location.
We have first hand knowledge of the Vancouver Soulcycle studio. The Vancouver Soulcycle manager engaged in severe abuse, intimation and harassment which must be made public.
For some reason SoulCycle Corperate did not screen the applicants well enough because they hired a manager who had a revenge agenda. As soon as the studio manager Stephanie Delisi was hired she targeted a middle-eastern man and threatened him. She even called him at his residence and threatened and slandered him.
Not sure why she was so hateful and malicious. Was it because he didn’t want any romantic relationship? Or because he, himself is also an Indoor Cycling Instructor which is a problem for her because he is a middle-eastern man in a position of leadership? Or was it because he had a past conflict with her friend and thus she was commanded to attack him like a pitbull? Your guess is good as ours.
What is even more malicious is that when the Vancouver Studio manager either Stephanie Delisi OR Lorenn Sayers became aware that the middle-eastern intended to go public, they called the SoulCycle lawyer in New York and had him threatened. They had Genna Selesnick, who is a “lawyer”, engage in a one-sided, and fabricated spurious accusation. Remember. That Ms. Selesnick is supposed to be a professional. However. Last time we checked professionals are aware that no matter how much you flatten a pancake there is always two sides. Moreover. Evidence and Truth are the fundamentals of professionalism. What if the middle-eastern man had incriminating evidence?
In addition. Join us in filing a complaint against that black belt lawyer who threatened middle-eastern man without even giving him one minute to hear his side. You can complain here. Please file a complaint on Genna Selesnick, here

Some SUPPLEMENTARY INFO BELOW.
Please notice a page from the Soul Cycle Training Manual. You will agree that many sociopaths and psychopaths are behind the management. Why don’t they practice what they preach?
contemptuous ridicule or mockery.
Lastly. Not surprised that on May 25 2018 CNN reported that “SoulCycle gives up on an IPO” In our opinion t is because of horrible incidents as we read above. Then we read in Market Watch which reported that Soulcycle is facing “DERISION”.
1) SoulCycle was punished with a 9.2 million dollar judgement for selling illegally expiring gift certificates.
