I thought it was a joke or satire when someone told me that the Vancouver Indoor Cycling scene was lead by predominantly “cougars”. However I am starting to believe the statement that the Vancouver Indoor Spinning scene has been taken over by “cougars”.
Recently I visited Amazing Personal Training or APT training in Vancouver and I was very disappointed. At first I was invited by Jeff Weltman who is the owner of APT studio. I am a certified indoor cycling instructor and a certified personal trainer and Jeff Weltman was aware of that. His website (www.aptstudio.ca) comes across friendly, (although it looks very basic).
So we had an agreement that I would teach the public indoor cycling classes and help people become fit. However little did I know that Jeff had to ok that with Patti Bishop who is the owner of North Star Fitness in Vancouver and Ms Patti Bishop is a manager of APT on arbutus.
However. After you read the “next reply” from Jeff Weltman you might agree with the opinion that Vancouver Indoor Cycling scene lead by predominantly “cougars”.
After you read the very mean and unfriendly email that Jeff Weltman sent me we kindly ask you to contact him and demand that allowing mean and unfriendly cougars to take over the indoor cycling scene in Vancouver is disgraceful to the indoor cycling community and extremely unethical. “The most accurate indication of the level of education of any person is their level of ethics “ Only a mean cougar would think this is ethical. After doing some due diligence with my trainers and staff I have decided that it probably best that you not come to APT to train clients or do spin classes John. The days and times you suggested are really not available and the consensus is that we would rather keep the spin bikes on the floor for everyone to use during the day rather than having them all dragged into the classroom for a class. I am also not really interested in holding half day spinning workshops at APT on weekends either, it is not what we are all about. I think that it is best you continue to train your clients at Executive as you have been doing. Thank you for your interest.
